Over the years we have seen our natural habitats being destroyed by illegal stone mining, use of excessive pesticides and poor use of water resources.
Illegal stone mining created devastating changes in topography, denuded the surrounding Aravalli hills, changed traditional water courses that used to feed the lake and possibly the stone crushing has affected health of local population.
For many years the influx of outsiders trying to make a quick buck also created disturbing influence in our village, making it difficult to carry on activities at that the training and health centre set up in the village. In recent years concerted efforts and focus of local authorities has put a stop to these activities. It is our hope that changing the lives of a handful can and does lead to a growing ripple of change. We invite you to share our experiences.
